Is India’s moral compass posing a risk to people’s right to privacy?

Where the entire world is rejoicing the freedom of 21 st century, it’s hard to believe that there are places on this earth where, there still exists an ever-present patriarchy that frowns on women engaging in pre-marital relationships. You are looked down upon if you wear revealing clothes or if you hang out with boys. In most parts of India there’s a big list of other such offenses against decency and good taste. I feel lucky that even being born and brought up in the same society; never had to face all these. I still remember talking about my crushes to my mom and sister, though accept, I never shared these with my dad. However still he always tried his best to be a good friend, a supportive and a caring father and he indeed is. Indian Diaspora and its recognition in Britain!

We all crave recognition, whether it's for ourselves or for the nation to which we belong. With the UK general elections having recently concluded, we have something to be proud of: the record number of Indian-origin candidates elected to British Parliament. While the 2010 elections saw seven Indians making it to the Commons, this year no fewer than 10 have managed to grab seats. The victory was probably as much of a surprise to Prime Minister David Cameron as it was to everyone else - after all, the opinion polls showed that the Conservative Party would win by a margin from Labour. However, they won 331 out of the total 650 seats, giving them a slender majority. The UK elections grabbed headlines the world over, and for me it was all a bit more special as I cast my vote too. A mother knows it best!

So finally almost after one and a half years , I am back on my blog jotting down my thoughts about the thing that has kept me away from my dear blog ;) The best feeling on this earth of being a mommy dear and the worst when someone tells you how you can be a better mommy ;) Let me introduce the new me :) I am a mother of a two year old darling daughter... yes a mommy now ;). so my life no more revolves around the political stories of a newsroom...ok so here I am sharing the details about the field I belong to..or I should say the career where I gave almost five years of my life before being a Mommy :P  This time its all about the life that has kept me busy apart from being the coochiee coo couples for the people who know me and my hubby ;).
