END is NEAR

Everyone has a right to develop and grow--in terms of finances, power. But what if this race will soon close the chapters of our Life.
With increasing no. of industries and vehicles, pollution is increasing. And an increase in pollution level will increase the greenhouse problem which ultimately will increase global temperature. Due to energy generation from fossil fuels and deforestation-- atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases are increasing beyond their natural levels, resulting in an enhanced greenhouse effect causing increase in global or global warming and the ultimate consequence is Climate change.
Climate change is a serious threat to our existence. In developing countries like ours--India-- Climate change could represent an additional stress on ecological and socio economic systems..that are already facing tremendous pressure due to rapid urbanisation, industrialization and economic development, With is huge and growing population India is highly vulnerable to impacts of climate change.

Extreme tempeartures and heat spells have already become common over Northern India , often causing loss of human life. Climate change hs had an effect on monsoons too and as India is heavily dependent on monsoons to meet its agricultural and water needs--our increasing carbon emission will leave us with no food and water on this earth.

Though the environment ministers and officials from almost every country are trying to carve out a solution at Copenhagen summit this year to deal with Climate change, still it needs a cooperation from every human for a better solution.

Developing countries including China and India believe that it is the responsiblity of wealthy industrialised nations such as UK & US to set a clear example on cutting carbon emissions.

The recent recession has made rich countries less willing to part with their cash. Rapidly growing chinese economy has overtaken America as the world's largest emitter of carbon dioxide. The Chinese goverment argues that it has a moral right to develop and grow its economy and carbon emission will inevitably grow with it.

There is also the issue of industrialised nations outsourcing carbon emissions to developing nations. This is a consequence of huge qualities of carbon intensive manufacturing taking place in China on behalf of buyers in west. China wants consumer countries to take responsiblities for the carbon emission generated in the manufacturing of goods, not the producer countries that export them.

A kyoto protocol to the UN framework on convention on climate change was initially designed in 1997 to deal with the problem, but it couldn't prove fruitful for long run. We are still working on it. As per the Summit in Copenhagen , it was said that China, India, South Africa and Brazil will unite to draw the battle lines for the climate summit, but the true story differed from what decided. None of the country is willing to work on it on large scale as it will efect their economy.

Emission reductions of 80 percent are needed if dangerous climate change is to be prevented. The time has come for us to wean ourselves off fossil fuels and other climate changing technologies. Its high time now. Every person living on this earth should try to work towards reducing carbon emission from environment to live further on this earth.
