Another attack, 26/11- We stil have no solution

Image
Its been almost a week to the end of attacks in Mumbai. I still remember the footages of Mumbai attacks of Taj hotel, Nariman house, CST shown on news channels for 59 hrs. It was heart rending to see frenzied people, crying, for the lost of their loved ones. I was glued to the televison in such a way that everything seemed to me , as if i was there. I was all in tears to see the condition of people entraped in the situation. I was apalled to see the trauma people wre going through. Hatts off to the brave soldiers, who didn't care for their own lives. Many people were able to see the sunlight after three days, due to them. This incident has left a herat rending mark in everyone's heart around the globe. Nationals of the US, UK, France, Italy, Japan, Israel were amongst those killed in mumbai attacks. Tear rolled down my cheeks, when i came to hear that, a one year old baby lost his parents on his birthday. He is an orphan now. The rabbie family was killed in the attacks, lea...

Mahatma's soul in Obama

Image
It feels great to be an Indian. I belong to the land of Mahatma Gandhi. A man who is idolised all over the world for the change he brought to India. He fought against all the odds to earn freedom for India from colonial rule. I saw the making of Mahatma at the age of 13 and have still not forgotten a single scene of the movie. I remember , I was all in tears while watching the movie.. It wasn't an emotional drama. It was the story of our legend who gave his blood and sweat to make our country an independent nation. Look at India. Yes its my country, where there is no racial discrimination, no ethnic discrimination. You are not known by your religion, you are known as an Indian. Yes , an Indian. A black man will now become president of a predominantly white America. It was a tough fight between John McCain and Barack Obama. A black man in White House?-A headline seen on most of the international and Indian news channels . The results are out Barack Obama won the US presidential poll...

No, late night shift for you “Girl”

Image
“No, we won't permit you to work late at night, not at any cost”, my mom said. I had a new Job offer with handsome salary and nice perks in my hand. No, no I am not jobless. I am working with one of the known media firms, and I am happy with my job. I am enjoying my life. Everybody loves to move ahead in life, but I wasn't ready for it. The job profile attracted me a lot. It was all about page 3 reporting. Wow, that means, soon my social circle would surround eminent personalities from the glamorous world. It sounds good. But is it? Page 3, means working late nights and coming back home at wee hours. Though it's not a big deal, as many people work in late nights. Surely there might be many girls too working at this time. Then why not me? Will I be ok, to leave my comfort den for such a stressful job? All these thoughts kept hovering in my mind. My parents just said no, without blinking or giving it a second thought. What working late night? No, its not at all safe, see wha...

13 September- A black day

Image
After Jaipur, Bangalore, Ahemdabad, it was Delhi in the cross hairs. Saturday's blast have been the most terrifying so far, not for the no. of people killed and injured, but how how close it has come to us. I remember, two weeks before the explosion, I had stood at the same bus stop, where one of the bombs later went off. What if the blast had taken place that day. Would I still be writing about it? Or would I have been read about? The blast were like a bolt from the blue. It was heart rending to see the wounded and the grieving people on the news channels. It wasn't necessary to have known any of the victims. The tears kept rolling down my cheeks. The targets on Saturday evening included symbols of the emerging, everyday India. An upscale market, a movie theatre, a sprawling park, the popular hub at India gate. Saturday evening for most people, is to rejuvenate after a tiring week. But this time the weekend revelry turned into tragedy. It now transpires that Delhi was in the c...

Lets fight for the undeclared tomorrow !

Image
Solace is what everyone wants in life. But what happens when people around you say that there is no solace until you die? I believe its all in our mind. There's always a hope of proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. If you are in pain, it doesn’t mean that life has stopped. Tomorrow may spring a pleasant surprise for you. Happiness and sadness are part of life. We should learn to enjoy the moment. Worrying about the known source of terror, or the unknown terror from natural calamities will not help. There are many things in this world that disturb our peace. On one side there are Pak militants entering Jammu, killing innocent people, taking an entire family hostage. There are unknown threats to our life and our peace. We still can’t forget the seven blasts that took place in a Mumbai train, which left a trail of blood and destruction. And now the undeclared terror in Bihar. The Kosi River has destroyed thousand lives, left many people homeless. Bihar remained hostage to a rive...

A tale of a young lady

Image
I remember the time,I was sitting in the balcony remniscing about the party that ended a day before,I heard some one speaking in a soft innocent voice. I came through the balcony to see who was that lady...A young lady with bright eyes, long hair, in a beautiful light green suit, asking my mama to give her a job. My mother is a social worker, She has a NGO which works for women upliftment, she also works as as a vice principal in a school. She is buzy most of the times. She required a caretaker for our family and then there was Lalita, No not the protagonist of Gurinder Chaddha's movie bride and prej-udice, but the protagonist of her own destiny written story. My heart ponders with grief to see, that people like her are still happy no matter, she goes through lot of pain daily. She is a young beautiful lady who belongs to a conservative poor family of Aasam. She married the man of her choice and then there was she living her life without a shelter on her head, fighting with the vows ...

The Toughest "Recognition "

Image
The time she gave birth to the child, she wasnt aware wha t lies ahead in child's lyf. A simple Indian family who at time the child is born, starts thinking about the day the child will get married. How proud the mother will feel if she'll come to know that the baby in her womb will one day be the mark of the country, Lucky- The Mother. Abhinav bindra, The ace shooter, the man who made India proud by winning gold medal at olympics made a mark in India. Three days ago 80% of people would not have known him or botherd to check out any participant playing from our country at olympics, They might have heard about raghvendar rathore or 1 or 2 other players. But now three days after 99% of the country knows who Abhinav Bindra is. The son of the chandigarh meat merchant who has now become the talk of the town, due to his victory at olympics. The same scenario happens everytime, the another star emerges out. Like wise happend at the time when the first girl from India got a place in th...
